In an exciting clash in the Nevada Cricket Association Fall 2024 league, the Lcrc Lions dominated the PHANTOMS, securing a convincing 10-wicket victory. Batting first, the PHANTOMS struggled against the disciplined bowling attack of the Lions, managing to set a modest target of 107 runs. Somu G (27) and Ankur Singh (18) were the notable contributors, but wickets fell at regular intervals, with Prasad Sanjeewa being the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for just 13 runs.
The chase was nothing short of a spectacle, as Lcrc Lions’ opening duo, Thilan Pathberiya and Winston Hutchinson, made light work of the target. Pathberiya played a dazzling knock, scoring a rapid 61, while Hutchinson remained unbeaten on 39. Their partnership, full of aggressive strokes and excellent running between the wickets, took the game away from the PHANTOMS in just 9.3 overs, showcasing the Lions’ dominance.
This comprehensive performance by the Lcrc Lions highlighted their clinical approach with both bat and ball. PHANTOMS, despite their early breakthroughs with the ball, had no answers for the dynamic batting display of Pathberiya and Hutchinson. It was a match to remember for the Lions, who look set to be strong contenders in this year’s league.
